In 2025, we launched Watermelon+, a streaming platform where people power the stories that inspire a better world.
THE LEGACY
Following the legacy of their father and uncle, Malik and Waleed Ali, founders of MPI Media Group in 1976, brothers Badie and Hamza Ali launched Watermelon Pictures in 2024 to champion underrepresented filmmakers. A dream fulfilled.

When the flag of Palestine was banned from public display, the watermelon became a symbol of creative resistance due to its shared colors.
