About the role
We’re looking for a talented and versatile Graphic Designer to help bring our films, campaigns, and brand to life.
The Designer is responsible for creating elevated, on-brand visual communications across digital, social, print, streaming, and emerging platforms, with a portfolio that is diverse and shows your ability to connect with audiences in film and television.
The ideal candidate has a strong visual sensibility, understands contemporary culture, and can create compelling designs that capture attention across digital, social, theatrical, and promotional platforms.
You’ll collaborate with our marketing and creative teams to develop materials for film releases, Watermelon+, and broader brand initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design engaging graphics for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and other digital platforms.
- Create social media carousels, promotional graphics, announcements, and campaign assets.
- Develop theatrical marketing materials, including posters, digital advertisements, screening announcements, and event graphics.
- Design promotional assets for Watermelon+, including key art adaptations, banners, and platform graphics.
- Translate creative briefs into best-in-class visual concepts that align with campaign strategy, audience insights, and brand identity.
- Adapt existing artwork into multiple formats and specifications.
- Prepare production-ready files that meet technical specs for print, broadcast, and digital platforms.
- Collaborate with marketing, publicity, and social media teams to support film launches and ongoing campaigns.
- Stay current on design trends, emerging technologies, and entertainment marketing best practices to continually elevate the creative work.
- Foster a collaborative team environment by contributing ideas, sharing knowledge, and supporting creative excellence.
- Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced release environment.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience designing for an entertainment studio, streaming platform, creative agency, or brand.
- Strong portfolio showcasing typography, composition, digital campaigns, and social media design.
- Strong typography, layout, composition, and color skills.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), with working knowledge of After Effects and Premiere.
- Comfortable in Canva and Keynote for presentations.
- Able to work independently, take direction, give and receive critique, and iterate quickly.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing multiple priorities.
- Able to work extended hours and meet critical deadlines.
- Strong understanding of visual trends and social-first design.
- Interest in independent cinema, international storytelling, and horror/thriller genres is a plus.
Engagement
Consultant engagement at $25–$30 per hour, with a minimum of 20 hours per week. Project-based or ongoing, depending on campaign needs. West Coast based (Los Angeles or San Francisco) preferred.
